Why aren't there any icons on my PC desktop?
During the setup process of the Game Manager (the application that loads and saves your games) you can select the option to save game icons to your desktop. If this option was not selected during setup, these icons won’t appear.
There's a couple ways to help resolve this.
Method 1:
- From the Windows Start menu, select Computer
- Select Windows (C:)
- Open Program Files
- Open the game directory
- Right click LaunchGame.bfg and select Create Shortcut
- Right click on the newly created shortcut and select Rename
- Change the name of the file to the name of the game
- Drag and drop the shortcut to your Desktop
You should now have a shortcut on your Desktop!
Method 2:
In order to save game icons to your desktop, uninstall and reinstall the Game Manager. While reinstalling the Game Manager, you will eventually be prompted with the option to show Shortcut Icons. Make sure the two boxes below the Shortcut Icons heading are checked as shown in the following image:
To begin uninstalling and reinstalling the Game Manager, follow the steps below:
Uninstall the Game Manager
- From the Windows Start menu in the bottom left corner of your screen, select Control Panel.
- Windows XP Users
- Click Add/Remove Programs.
- Select Big Fish Games: Game Manager and click the Change/Remove button.
- Windows 7 / Vista Users
- Click Programs, and then Uninstall a program.
- Select Big Fish Games: Game Manager and click Uninstall.
- Windows XP Users
- Proceed with the uninstall instructions to fully remove the Game Manager.
Reinstall the Game Manager
- Download the Game Manager or reinstall a game from your Purchase History to reinstalling the Game Manager.
- During the Game Manager installation, make sure the boxes under the Shortcut Icons heading are checked, as shown in the above image.
